Des Hogan, who is the Head of the Americas Litigation practice, strives to extinguish cases early and knows how to try them when necessary. He handles class actions, cyber litigation, commercial disputes, and government investigations. He is Chambers rated (starting in 2013) and has been recognized by the Washingtonian (since 2010) as one of D.C.'s top litigators.
Des has successfully led numerous class actions. Recently, his team won a significant victory in the Uber Data Breach multidistrict litigation (MDL) in the Central District of California when the court granted arbitration motions and stayed eight nationwide class actions. Des also successfully represented Anthem in the Anthem Data Breach MDL in the Northern District of California, helping drive a favorable resolution of the litigation and the related regulatory investigations. And his team recently secured dismissal with prejudice of a nationwide consumer class action against a food manufacturer in a precedent-setting false advertising case in Miami. Currently, he represents more than a dozen Blue Cross Blue Shield plans in an antitrust MDL in Alabama.
