The draft policy encourages self-regulations and a soft approach to government intervention in AI. The policy encourages sectoral regulation from regulators, whilst maintaining government policy.
The main guiding principles of the policy include ensuring AI is person-centric and has respect for fundamental rights and public interests, AI is to be used to promote growth, sustainable development and Israeli leadership innovation, ensure there is equality and the prevention of unwarranted discrimination in the development and use of AI, ensure there is transparency and public relation in the development and use of AI, ensure there is reliability, durability, security and safety in the development and use of AI and ensure that AI is developed responsibly.
