The Model Framework is based on two guiding principles: Organisations using AI in decision-making should ensure that the decision-making process is explainable, transparent and fair, and AI should be human-centric.
The Model Framework uses existing and common AI ethical principles (a compilation of which is set out in Annex A) and converts them into implementable practices. The existing standards compiled from various sources include: 11 governance principles are transparency, explainability, repeatability/reproducibility, safety, security, robustness, fairness, data governance, accountability, human agency and oversight, inclusive growth, societal and environmental well-being.
