Meta is an American multinational technology company, that developed an AI software large language model Meta AI (LLaMA). Plaintiffs alleged Meta used copyrighted books, including allegedly pirated works to train its LLaMA generative AI models. Authors brought forward a putative class action alleging copyright infringement and violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) for using the copyrighted books.
