The Arizona House of Representative passed a bill proposing protection for cryptocurrency node operators passed on 20 February 2018, which the Governor signed on 12 April 2018.
The bill states that a county, city or town may not prohibit or restrict an individual from running a node on blockchain technology in a residence. This activity is stated to be of a statewide concern and not subject to further regulation by a county, city or town.
A bill which would allow data stored on a blockchain to be recognised by law passed the Arizona Senate on 28 March 2018 and was signed by the Governor on 3 April 2018.
The bill proposes to amend sections 10-140, Arizona Revised Statutes to include data stored using blockchain technology to fall within the definition of "writing" or "written".
