Palau held a general election on 5 November 2024.
Incumbent President Surangel S.Whipps Jr. was re-elected and will serve a four-year term.
Palau has a bicameral National Congress (Olbiil Era Keluau) made up of the House of Delegates and the Senate; 16 members represent the 16 states in the House of Delegates and 13 Senators represent the residential population. Members of the National Congress serve four-year terms.
The President is elected by absolute majority through a two-round system.
Palau has a population of 18,052 and around 16,900 registered voters. Voter turnout in the 2024 election was 44.4%.
