Bhutan held National Assembly elections on 9 January 2024.
Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay of the People’s Democratic Party won the majority of the 47 seats.
The main political parties are the People’s Democratic Party and the Bhutan Tendrel Party.
Bhutan has a population of 791,582 and 498,135 registered voters. Voter turnout in the 2024 elections was 65.6%.
