Madagascar held parliamentary elections on 29 May 2024.
The bicameral parliament comprises the 163-member lower house National Assembly and the upper house Senate with 33 members.
Members of the National Assembly serve six-year terms.
President Andry Rajoelina of the Young Malagasies Determined (TGV) party was re-elected in November 2023 and will serve a five-year term. The current prime minister is Christian Ntsay.
Madagascar has a population of 30.9 million and approximately 11 million registered voters. Turnout in the 2024 elections was 46.7%.
Voter turnout in the 2023 presidential election was 46.3%.
