Incumbent Prime Minister Edi Rama of the Socialist Party won the election with 52% of the vote and will serve a fourth term in office.
The opposition centre-right Democratic Party received 34% of the vote.
Parliament has 140 members who serve four-year terms.
This is the first time Albanians living abroad were able to vote from their countries of residence.
Albania has a population of around 2.8 million and 3.5 million registered voters. Provisional results show turnout in the election was 42.2%
