Voters will be electing the next President as well as all members of the bicameral parliament.
Incumbent President Luis Arce of the ruling MAS-IPSP party did not seek re-election and Eduardo del Castillo stood as the party’s candidate.
In the August election, the Christian Democratic Party (PDC), led by candidate Rodrigo Paz Pereira, received 32.1% of the vote while the Libre alliance, led by former president Jorge Tuto Quiroga, received 26.7% and MAS-IPSP 3.2% of the vote.
Bolivia’s parliament comprises the upper house Chamber of Senators with 36 members who serve five-year terms; and the lower house Chamber of Deputies with 130 members serving five-year terms.
Bolivia has a population of around 12.6 million and 7.35 million registered voters. In the 2020 election, voter turnout 88%.
