Cambodia held Senate elections on 25 February 2024.
The ruling Cambodian People’s Party won 55 of the 58 contested seats in the upper house of Parliament.
The Senate is indirectly elected via a party-list system, with two senators appoint by the King and two by the National Assembly. Senators serve six-year terms.
The main political parties are Cambodian People’s Party; National United Front for an Independent, Neutral, Peaceful and Co-operative Cambodia (FUNCINPEC); and the Candlelight Party.
The country has a population of 17.1 million and approximately 9.7 million registered to vote. Voter turnout in the 2023 general election was 84.5%.
