Ecuador is due to hold a general election on 9 February 2025.
Incumbent President Daniel Noboa of the ruling National Democratic Action (ADN) alliance is seeking re-election. He became president in 2023 after President Guillermo Lasso dissolved parliament in May 2023 and triggered a general election in which he did not seek re-election and was succeeded by Noboa.
Opposition candidate Luisa Gonzalez of the Citizen Revolution Movement has announced she will be running for president.
Voters will also be electing members of the National Assembly; members will serve four-year terms.
Ecuador has a population of 18.2 million and approximately 10.8 million registered voters. Voter turnout in the 2023 general election was 82.9%
