The country has a bicameral Federal Parliamentary Assembly comprising the upper House of Federation and the lower House of People’s Representatives. Members in both houses serve five-year terms.
Voters will be electing 547 members of the House of People’s Representatives.
The current Prime Minister is Abiy Ahmed.
Ethiopia has a population of around 138 million and 38 million registered voters. In the 2021 general election, voter turnout was 89%.
