The Philippines will be holding a general election on 12 May 2025.
Voters will be electing
• 12 senators (half of the Senate)
• All members of the House of Representatives including party-list representatives
• Local government officials
The upper house Senate has 24 senators, half of which are elected every three years. Senators serve six-year terms.
Members of the lower House of Representatives serve three-year terms.
The President is head of state and head of government. The current President is Bongbong Marcos.
The Philippines has a population of approximately 116.4 million and around 69 million registered voters. Turnout in the 2022 parliamentary elections was 84%.
