Suriname is due to hold a general election on 25 May 2025.
The 51 seats in the National Assembly are elected using party-list proportional representation.
The current President is Chandrikapersad Santokhi of the ruling Progressive Reform Party (VHP).
Suriname has a population of around 638,413 and 383,333 registered voters. In the 2020 election, voter turnout was 72%.
