Uzbekistan held parliamentary elections on 27 October 2024.
The country has a bicameral parliament with the lower house Legislative Chamber comprising 150 members and the upper house Senate with 100 members.
The Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businesspeople – Liberal Democratic Party (UzLiDeP), led by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, remained the largest party, winning 64 seats in the Legislative Chamber, up from 53 in 2019.
President Mirziyoyev won a third term in 2023. He signed into law a bill approving the country's transition from its majority voting system to a mixed majority and proportional electoral system.
The prime minster is Abdulla Aripov.
The country has a population of around 35.6 million and 20 million registered voters. In the 2024 parliamentary election, voter turnout was 75%.
