Uzbekistan is due to hold parliamentary elections on 27 October 2024.
The country has a bicameral parliament with the lower house Legislative Chamber comprising 150 members and the upper house Senate with 100 members.
The current president is Shavkat Mirziyoev, who won a third term in 2023. He signed into law a bill approving the country's transition from its majority voting system to a mixed majority and proportional electoral system.
The prime minster is Abdulla Aripov.
The country has a population of 35.6 million and around 20 million registered voters. In the 2019 parliamentary election, voter turnout was 67.8%.
